English and Thais!

I got some e-mail from my Thai friend, which I would like to confess that I could not understand what my friend would like to convey to me. The message contains very luxurious words and irregular terms for ordinary conversation!

When I read that e-mail, I recalled myself when I firstly studies English and learned numerous difficult English terms. I did the same thing as my frien by using the hard words to indicate that I am an educated person!

However, I usually failed to communicate with my American friends! They, I means the native American, do not speak the exponentially irregular words in the day-to-day life. They were hit my by words and did not calculate if I would speak those difficult terms. Thereafter, I have learnt that I would rather speak the easy words. Presently, I have to confess again - I forgot almost difficult words I knew.

My advisors and my American friends suggest that I should use clear, short and easy words if I love to make the reader understand what I try to narrate. If I pretend to use the long - difficult words, it is likely to make them confuse and it is totally unsuccessful!

I believe so! How do you think? Easy or difficult, which one is likely better?
